It seems unlikely that the restore will actually work and most likely they have lost all their data - the cost will be heavy and they may not recover their business. Now I am the first to point out that this company should have had a decent local-backup solution - but unfortunately their MSP had only integrated Acronis Cloud Backup. That is when it works - for half a day it was impossible to browse the backups - after several minutes of watching the activity-ticker it would bomb out with "The server is not available at the moment. I tried from 4 different global location - one in the same country as the source (I back-traced the IP) - France but no matter where I attempted to download files, I could never get more than a trickle - I saw a peak of 800 KB/s several days back but generally it runs to less than 50 KB/s. I figured I would install a parallel server and pull their data down in the meantime. Acronis Backup 11.7 for PC/for Windows Server/for Linux Server/for Windows Server Essentials. That was 5 days ago and it is still "recovering". Machine License for 1 machine Deployment License for 1 deployment on 1 machine. ![]() I cleared the server of the malware, installed the latest Acronis Windows agents, and initiated recovery from the night before. The company uses Acronis Cloud Backup for their Single HP Proliant Server. I long abandoned Acronis at v11.7 as I just had too many bad experiences with their software but I was thrust back into the world of Acronis last week when I was consulted to assist with a Ransomware recovery project. ![]()
